Sometimes this photography job of mine can be really hard, and sometimes it can be really rewarding. This family session was one of those super rewarding ones. I got a call from a mutual friend of mine and this family explaining that this friend was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and she wanted to make sure we could capture her beautiful family for her before they start their journey with fighting this terrible disease. We quickly set up the session before her chemo treatments were to begin. As soon as I met Kristine and her family on the streets of downtown Bel Air, we both knew each other looked familiar.
We finally made the connection – we go to the same church! Our church is HUGE and has four campuses around town and many different service times to choose from so you just never know WHO actually goes to your own church sometimes! Not only that, we realized her mother used to rock two of my babies in the church nursery decades ago! Even after our session, we discovered our daughters are also in the SAME small group from church and they meet together every week. Sometimes it amazes me the way God orders our steps, and crosses our paths with exactly the right people at the right time. Will you join me in praying for Kristine and her beautiful family as TODAY begins her first round of chemo and her battle against this terrible disease. As we were walking along the streets of Bel Air, we just happened upon this painting of the pink breast cancer survivor ribbons in the window. What a beautiful tangible reminder that God is right there with us, and goes before us into the great unknown.
She has so many friends and family standing behind her, praying for her, and helping her in every way possible. No matter what the future holds, we know that God is right in the midst of it all. Her kids were just the sweetest and they loved each other so well!
Thank you Kristine for allowing me the honor of capturing such precious memories for you, and allowing me into some of your sweetest intimate family moments. You and your family are in my prayers daily and you are not alone!
